Heavy Rainfall to Continue Across Pakistan After a Short Gap:

Heavy rains are expected to continue across Pakistan after a lull for some time, with the amount of rain expected to increase in different regions from early September. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that rains accompanied by wind and thunderstorms will affect areas of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and Sindh provinces till early September. This rainfall may increase the flow of local rivers, cause flooding in low-lying areas and  landslides in mountainous areas such as Murree and Ghariyat. Authorities have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent  adverse impacts, especially in areas prone to landslides and flash floods. The PMD has also warned farmers and travellers to adjust their plans according to the weather conditions to avoid any disruptions.  The  heavy rains, which follow significant monsoon activity earlier in the season, have already caused significant damage across the country, including deaths, injuries, and damage to infrastructure.
