A Minecraft Movie 

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first teaser for 
A Minecraft Movie. The film is scheduled for release in North America on April 4, 2025,  with an early release in the UK and Australia on April 2, 2025. The  live-action adaptation of the hugely popular video game Minecraft  is directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite). The cast includes celebrities such as Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Jennifer Coolidge. The film tells the story of four ordinary people who are drawn into the game's blocky fantasy world, the Overworld. To get back home, they must navigate this new environment and face threats such as piglins and zombies with the help of a character named Steve, played by Jack Black. The teaser received mixed reactions. While the film beautifully captures the iconic  aesthetic of Minecraft, some viewers were uneasy with the combination of live action and animation, especially in the design of some creatures such as pigmen and creepers. This has led to comparisons being made to other video game adaptations, where the visual choices have received similar criticism. The film is expected to be a huge success and will capitalize on Minecraft's huge global fanbase.
