As a special measure to mark Pakistan's 77th Independence Day, the government announced a cut in petrol prices. Petrol price has been reduced by R.s 8.47 per litre and now stands at R.s 260.96 per litre. Diesel price has also been reduced by R.s 6.70 per litre and now stands at R.s 266.07 per litre . The measure is expected to provide relief to consumers and boost economic activity across the country. The cut was formally announced by the Ministry of Finance and came into effect on August 14, coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations (Daily Beam And News Vista).
